Fact Sheet: Women Veterans (Department of Labor VETS Program)

Veterans with noncombat and combat military experience receive "priority of service" for all employment and training programs funded directly, in whole or in part, by the Department of Labor. These programs are operated by nearly 2,500 American Job Centers nationwide. The Veterans Employment Trainging Service (VET) offers intensive employment services to veterans with significant barriers to employment through the Jobs for Veterans State Grant Program (JVSG).

Work Opportunity Tax Credit for Veteran Employers

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit offering an incentive for private sector businesses to hire individuals from eight targeted groups, which includes veterans, that have consistently faced significant barriers to employment.
